Toril GIS
Last updated: October 2025
The Toril GIS project is an ongoing, long-term effort to build an open-source geospatial database of Toril, the world of the Forgotten Realms. The project is actively developing — new data, layers, and tools are gradually added and refined.
Toril GIS will also serve as the data foundation for Toril Explorer — an interactive web map planned to launch in 2026. Toril Explorer aims to make exploring the Forgotten Realms far more intuitive and visually engaging than working directly inside QGIS.
Development progress and updates are posted on the Geospatial Grimoire Blog. Public downloads will become available once the first dataset is finalized.
